Mastery-Based Teaching Moves and Grading Strategies for Remote Learning

Guests from the Mastery Collaborative will share competency-based approaches for effective remote instruction.

As educators embark on teaching remotely across the US, big questions are surfacing about equity, how to develop responsive learning communities online, and how to assess learning with accuracy. The Mastery Collaborative, a program of the New York City Department of Education's Office of Leadership, joins us again to share both useful ways to think through these issues and practices that they've already seen working well. Their model for remote learning focuses on 4 Important principles: be supportive, be flexible, be clear, and be responsive.

This session Is for all teachers, regardless of school model, who are striving to teach effectively in a remote or partly remote teaching situation.
