Turnitin recognized by 2023 EdTech Digest Awards for outstanding contributions to edtech industry

Gradescope by Turnitin and Chief Product Officer Annie Chechitelli are named 2023 honorees

Oakland, Calif.

Oakland, Calif. – May 10, 2023 – For the 13th annual EdTech Digest Awards - the world’s largest awards program dedicated to education technology - Gradescope by Turnitin and Chief Product Officer Annie Chechitelli were recognized for their contributions in transforming education through technology by EdTech Digest.

Gradescope by Turnitin, which helps educators seamlessly administer and grade assessments, online or in-class, won in the “testing and assessment solution” category. The platform is used by over 3.2 million students and 140,000 instructors globally. It supports a variety of variable-length assignments, such as problem sets and projects, as well as fixed-template assignments like worksheets, quizzes, bubble sheets and exams.

Gradescope by Turnitin supports assessments in:

Chief Product Officer Annie Chechitelli was also named a finalist in the global leader category. Since joining Turnitin in 2021, Chechitelli has led strategy, integration, innovation and growth across product lines, including academic integrity, grading and feedback and assessment capabilities. Under her leadership, Turnitin products and innovations have been honored with eight awards from a variety of industry partners, including the GSV EdTech 150, recognizing the 150 most transformational growth companies in digital learning for 2023.

Most recently, Chechitelli led the company’s AI writing detection launch, only a few months after AI-generated writing software, ChatGPT debuted.
