Turnitin establishes local team in Malaysia

Transition part of company's commitment to expand efforts in region

Malaysia

Malaysia – 30 June 2023 - Starting 30 June 2023, Turnitin will serve customers in Malaysia directly with a local team of four employees, as part of the company’s expansion efforts in the Asia Pacific region.

On a day-to-day basis, business will continue as usual for customers. However, with this transition, customers will now have access to additional resources and capabilities to help them ensure the integrity of education, and meaningfully improve learning outcomes for students and institutions. Benefits of a local team versus a reseller include:

  1. Dedicated in-house local team who will have more in-depth knowledge of Turnitin's products and services
  2. Opportunity to tap into the wider regional and global teams' skills and knowledge
  3. Access and ability to network with peer customers in the region and globally

“We are grateful to our Malaysian customers for putting their trust in Turnitin,” said James Thorley, regional vice president, Asia Pacific. “The new local team and I appreciate their efforts to support academic and research integrity, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership to better serve the territory’s educational community.”

Prior to the transition, customers were supported by iGroup. Turnitin plans to continue to partner with the company in other Asian Pacific territories.
