AI generated text is top-of-mind. From global news coverage to school hallways, everyone is talking about this rapidly growing technology and how it will impact many facets of life, including education.

In response to the demand and to showcase Turnitin’s progress on its AI writing detection homework, Turnitin is excited to announce the launch of its new AI writing resource page.

The publicly available web page will focus on Turnitin’s approach to AI writing for educators, administrators, educational decision makers and higher education institutions.

It will be regularly updated with information about Turnitin’s progress in bringing the detection features to market including how they are performing in the research and development lab, and highlighting each milestone in the development process. Resources will also include recent media coverage, and a list of industry events and conferences where the team will be on-site to provide in-person updates.

This isn’t new for us. Turnitin has a team of data scientists, AI, and machine learning experts dedicated to this work for many years. They are deeply knowledgeable about the latest innovations in AI, including the rapid development and continued evolution of AI-generated text.

“Based on how our detection technology is performing in the lab and with a significant number of test samples, we are confident that Turnitin’s AI writing detection capabilities will give educators information to help them decide how to best handle work that may have been influenced by AI writing tools,” said Annie Chechitelli, Chief Product Officer of Turnitin. “Equally important as our confidence in the technology is making the information usable and helpful and in a format that educators can use.”

Additionally, Turnitin experts in pedagogy and instruction will also contribute to an expanded library of resources to help guide K-12 teachers and higher education faculty on how to adjust to an academic environment where AI writing is used. In fact, there are already a few resources available including a glossary of terms to help understand the technology, and a blog on how educators can address the threat and what they might expect.

Be sure to bookmark the new landing page and check back regularly for updates, and follow us on Linkedin, Twitter Instagram and Facebook for insights on this rapidly changing technology.
